The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has announced warrants have been issued for nearly 100 people suspected of distributing child pornography over the Internet. GBI spokesman John Bankhead says the three-month investigation involved 47 federal, state, and local law enforcement and criminal justice agencies.
A former south Georgia television station owner has been sentenced to 1,000 years in prison on child sexual exploitation charges. Peter Mallory was charged with 60 counts of sexual exploitation of children, invasion of privacy and tampering with evidence.
Authorities in an eastern Georgia sheriff's office have announced they've made their 16th child porn arrest since June. Effingham County sheriff's spokesman David Ehsanipoor said police recently arrested a 55-year-old Port Wentworth man at his home on child porn charges.
