Law enforcement personel are requesting more information from cellphone carriers. In a report responding to a Congressional inquiry, cellphone companies say, police and public investigarors made more than a million requests for customer data last year. The numbers are an alarming surge over previous years, reflecting the increasingly gray area between privacy and technology.
