The Southern Baptist Convention has approved a resolution opposing the Boy Scouts of America's new policy allowing gay Scouts. The resolution also calls on the Boy Scouts to remove executive and board leaders who tried to allow gays as both members and leaders without consulting the many religious groups that sponsor Scout troops.
The pastor of a Georgia church says Boy Scouts who are being kicked out of congregations over policies on gay scouts are welcome to meet in her church if they need a place. The Rev. Stephanie Seigh says she decided to invite troops to meet at One World Spiritual Center in Marietta after a nearby church said it would end its affiliation with the Boy Scouts.
