The Savannah College of Art and Design is showing off its latest renovation project, its largest to date. The college, known for rehabilitating about 80 buildings in Savannah, has unveiled the newly expanded SCAD Museum of Art. A remarkable structure blending modern and historic details, it houses much of the college's impressive collection.
Kennesaw State University has been given a $2 million pledge to build an art museum to house its permanent collection. University officials say retired carpet industry executive Bernard A. Zuckerman made the pledge. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution says the offer requires the school to raise at least $1 million in the next 10 months.
