A Georgia pawnshop owner is angry about a cable company's decision not to run his advertising if it shows firearms. United Loan and Firearms owner Ray Reynolds says his most recent commercial -- a spoof of the History Channel reality show Pawn Stars -- shows firearms on the rack and inside the counter in some of the video.

In a cost-saving measure, the state opened bidding Monday for private organizations to manage highway rest centers. The Georgia DOT is looking for private companies interested in sponsorship and advertising space at the state’s 26 rest areas and welcome centers.

Georgia has found a marketer to help sell advertising at its state parks to help keep them open. The marketing company the state hired in July is working on commission. It’s in the process of identifying what the parks could offer companies in exchange for sponsorship and what companies would be a good match for the park’s mission and programs.
