A community in east Georgia is still trying to come to terms with a brutal beating of a coach that took place two weeks ago after a high school football game. A melee broke-out between the players of Warren County and Hancock Central. The incident has prompted reviews of post-game conduct by other school districts.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says the Hancock County Sheriff Dept. has requested its assistance with the investigation into the assault of a Warren County football coach. The attack after last Friday's football game between Hancock Central and Warren County High Schools left coach David Daniels with serious injuries.

Warren County Superintendent of Schools Carole Jean Carey was on hand in Sparta last Friday night when a Hancock Central player assaulted Warren County head coach David Daniel, sending the Screaming Devils coach to the hospital.

Warren County coach David Daniel suffered fractures around his cheek, nose and eye that will require major reconstructive surgery during an assault following the Screaming Devils' 21-2 victory over Hancock Central last Friday night in Sparta.

Ware County fell to No. 10 in Class AAAA following its loss to Lowndes. I was tempted to take the Gators out altogether and throw in the Raiders of Mays, but Ware County’s schedule is a bit tougher than the Mays schedule to date.
