Georgia's chief Juvenile Justice investigator and 19 other employees are suspended today. Commissioner Avery Niles suspended the workers for not resolving some 20 claims of sexual abuse against detained children. A department spokesman says Niles is taking the allegations seriously.
Georgia won't be one of the fifteen states to get a federal bonus for enrolling more kids in Medicaid and Peachcare. Public health advocates say the state could do a better job getting eligible kids publicly funded health insurance.
