Deep budget cuts in Washington mean military flight teams will likely be no-shows at air shows across the U.S. starting this spring, leaving dozens of host cities bracing for thinner crowds and lost tourism dollars. The flight teams are scheduled for at least two Georgia air shows in the coming months.

Robins Air Force Base officials say 1st Lt. Brian Johnson is scheduled to be awarded a Bronze Star medal during a ceremony Friday at the base in middle Georgia. Johnson serves with the base's 78th Medical Group and is being honored for his service as executive officer for a military surgical team in Afghanistan.

Next year's Wings Over North Georgia Air Show in Rome will feature an elite group of U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. This will be the first time the group of F-16 jets will fly over the event.

The final F-22 Raptor fighter jet rolled off the assembly line at a Lockheed Martin Corp. plant in Marietta on Tuesday. The final Raptor will be delivered to the U.S. Air Force next year, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. About 2,000 workers have assembled the jets at the Marietta plant.
