The Kate Puzey Peace Corps Volunteer Protection Act of 2011 seeks to better protect Americans serving with the Peace Corps. The bill is named in honor of a Georgia woman who died while serving in Benin.

Fourteen people died and scores were wounded in one of the worst industrial disasters in state history. Federal officials later found, the company "willfully" violated safety rules by letting combustible dust build up.
