A Florida-based airline has announced that it is pulling out of the Macon market before its planned flights from the central Georgia city to Atlanta's airport had started. Fort Lauderdale-based Sun Air International told Georgia transportation officials that challenges with pilot recruiting and training and establishing maintenance bases contributed to its decision.

A Florida-based airline is delaying its plan to begin flying travelers between Middle Georgia and Atlanta. The reasons behind the delay are not yet clear. In the meantime, GeorgiaSkies will continue flying passengers between Macon and Atlanta until Dec. 22 or longer.

A new airline will begin providing passenger flights from Macon to Atlanta later this year. Sun Air International plans to begin service from Macon to Atlanta on Dec. 1.
