The Stockbridge City Council voted Monday to remove Mayor Lee Stuart from office. The vote happened after nearly 12 hours of deliberation. Stuart said he's done nothing wrong, and his attorney said they will appeal the council's decision.

West Forsyth upended Hillgrove 40-28 after scoring 26 unanswered points in the third quarter. Hillgrove star running back Kenyan Drake was held to 19 carries for 39 yards and a touchdown. Drake also had five receptions for 44 yards and two scores as well as a kickoff return for a touchdown..

Ware County fell to No. 10 in Class AAAA following its loss to Lowndes. I was tempted to take the Gators out altogether and throw in the Raiders of Mays, but Ware County’s schedule is a bit tougher than the Mays schedule to date.

Federal regulators seized two more Georgia banks late Friday, making 16 failures for the year and 67 since the middle of 2008, leading the nation. And there's likely more pain ahead for the industry in the rest of 2011. High Trust Bank in Stockbridge, and Atlanta-based One Georgia Bank were both were heavy in commerical real estate loans.
