It was the final night of regular season football for many programs in metro Atlanta as region titles and playoff spots were fought over. St. Pius clinched a region title against cross-town rival Woodward Academy while Walton clinched an undefeated regular season.

St. Pius X took the Area 5-AAA tournament championship for the fourth year in a row. The Golden Lions, once again are a top seed and will face Troup in the first round.

The second week of the full slate of high school football games did not disappoint. Chattahoochee looked to get their season off on the right foot, but Lambert spoiled their season opener with a convincing win on the Cougars' home turf.

Home sweet home! On a beautiful afternoon Saturday at Roswell High School, the Roswell girls and boys track teams ran away with big wins at the prestigious Roswell Relays. The girls took first place with 97 points, followed by Hillgrove (67.5), Chamblee (51), Woodstock (41) and Tucker (36.5).

Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good. For McEachern, it was better to be lucky and good in their 31-28 win over North Cobb. Quarterback Trent Thompson hit receiver Rory Anderson on a 13-yard touchdown pass with 45 seconds left to complete a second-half comeback and give the Indians their seventh win of the season.
