As more and more games are played the process of deciding who makes the cut becomes harder each week. The scale of potential vs. production is starting to tilt in the direction of production on the field, however you simply cannot ignore potential and who a player projects to be at the next level.
What a great season! The playoffs are done and the champions have been crowned. Now what? Well, the Score 44 Hoops is now complete for the school year, marking the official end to high school basketball season here at Score Atlanta.
In the first round of the playoffs, many of the state’s top players guided their teams onward to the next game. However, after losses, Berkmar, Hillgrove, Redan and Walton each saw players fall out of this week’s list. But, on the other side of the coin, Sequoyah, Norcross, North Gwinnett and Northview each had players selected for this week’s 44 after big opening round wins.
In this week's list of the top 44 seniors in Georgia high school basketball, two changes reflect teams that are surging and others that are not. Derrick Henry of Newton enters the list, while Ryon Riggins of North Gwinnett was left out. On the girls portion of the 44, Briana Banks of Fayette Co was rewarded for her solid play while Tashayla Steede of Wheeler dropped out.
