The biggest shopping day of the year comes as a mixed blessing for many Georgia-owned small businesses. Shoppers line for deals, for sure. But many are looking for the biggest sales on big ticket TV's and computers at big box stores, national chains and malls.

A survey shows, not all Savannah businesses were thrilled by results from the city's first-ever Rock-and-Roll Marathon. City leaders hailed the run as a tourism coup. About twenty-three thousand runners and their families filled the city in early November. But some businesses saw empty stores, blaming road closures and the race's route.
