About two dozen protesters gathered in Atlanta to protest the use of drones by the U.S. government for spying, surveillance and carrying out lethal attacks. The demonstrators rallied Tuesday outside a hotel where representatives from academia, industry and government held a technical conference on unmanned aircraft systems.

At least 8 people were arrested today during a protest at an immigration detention center in rural Georgia. They were demanding the closure of the Stewart County Detention Center. About 70 protesters called for the closure of the private prison in West Georgia which houses detainees for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
