    Experts say a high-pitched buzz being heard around parts of central Georgia comes from a type of cicada now emerging through the red clay after 13 years beneath the Earth. Residents of north Macon, Jones County, and some other areas in Georgia say their high-pitched buzzing is causing quite a racket.

    In the next few weeks they will come out of the ground in Georgia. While they're here they will fly, mate, lay eggs and die. Will not be here again until 2024.
