State officials say a Georgia-based carpet manufacturing company could get state incentives worth more than $100 million. Calhoun-based Engineered Floors will open two facilities in the northwestern part of the state, creating about 2,400 jobs over the coming years, Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal announced last week.

About 400 water customers around the small community of Ramhurst have been ordered not to drink water following the Friday break-in at the Carters Lake Water Treatment Plant in Murray County. The FBI, Georgia Bureau of Investigation and a sheriff's department are investigating a break-in.

Officials in northwestern Georgia say a judge who resigned amid an investigation into multiple complaints left over 100 cases unresolved, 20 were so old they had to be dismissed. Gale Buckner had to sort through about 100 cases that had not yet been prosecuted when she was sworn in as Murray County's chief magistrate judge in November.
