There’s a football video game educators want your kids to play. The effort will get the game into every middle and high school in Georgia. On Tuesday a group of Atlanta-area students played a game of Financial Football with Falcons star receiver Roddy White, and Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle.

Four months after he was stripped of much of his power, popular incumbent Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle was looking to reconcile with his Republican colleagues. In a letter to GOP senators dated Thursday, Cagle proposed a return of some of the powers he lost in the weeks after he was overwhelmingly re-elected. The 2011 General Assembly ended this week with no clear path to a solution as both sides remained bitterly opposed — although they both acknowledged the leadership structure would have to change.

The leaders of the Georgia House and Senate have announced the creation of a 14 member panel to look into Georgia immigration laws ahead of next year's General Assembly. The Senate leader, Lt. Governor Casey Cagle, says the aim is to use every option to lessen illegal immigration's impact in Georgia. His election opponent says, it's too little, too late.
