We are more-or-less halfway through the high school football season and several players that were on the initial Score 44 but fell off have worked their way back onto the list. Jason Croom who was a bit disappointing early on has really turned it on after declaring his intent to sign with Tennessee.

As more and more games are played the process of deciding who makes the cut becomes harder each week. The scale of potential vs. production is starting to tilt in the direction of production on the field, however you simply cannot ignore potential and who a player projects to be at the next level.

It was another exhilarating night of high school football in Georgia, and the theme of the night was newer schools knocking off more established rivals.

One year ago, Austin Hardin kicked a 58-yard field goal with just seconds left to help Marist to a huge road victory over Southwest DeKalb. This year, the War Eagles are at home and breaking in a new quarterback in the GPB-TV game of the week.

The second week of the full slate of high school football games did not disappoint. Chattahoochee looked to get their season off on the right foot, but Lambert spoiled their season opener with a convincing win on the Cougars' home turf.

The Broncos and Trojans will square off today in the first-ever meeting between the two schools. Brookwood looks to build on last year’s Class AAAAA state title while second-year Lassiter head coach Jep Irwin will try to lead the Trojans back to the postseason for the fourth straight year.
