Executives with Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia Inc. say a $100 million expansion to the company's West Point plant has been completed. Company officials say the expansion, which included the addition of employees, increased the plant's capacity to a total of 360,000 vehicles per year.

Suppliers for the Kia Motors plant in West Point say they're considering expanding their workforces in preparation for the automaker's plan to construct the Optima sedan. Kia Motors plans to hire another 1,000 workers at its west Georgia plant. The auto-maker opened the online application process for prospective employees for its plant in West Point, which is near the Alabama state line.
