Georgia’s nonprofits are trying another coordinated day of giving Wednesday. Organizers want 10,000 donations at GAGivesDay.org during the 24-hour statewide campaign. And then the site will continue to accept contributions throughout the holiday season.
More than 7,000 Geogia non-profit organizations are losing their tax-exempt status. The IRS has revoked their ability to collect money tax-free because they haven't filed a new form. Many of the groups are simply defunct. But others might not have heard about the small, postcard-sized form.
