A group of airmen from Robins Air Force Base could make history in Iraq if they leave on the final plane out of the country. The Telegraph of Macon reports that about 30 members of the 5th Combat Communications Group have been at Sather Air Base and will likely be among the last to leave even if they aren't on the last plane out.

A fallen soldier from Columbus is the latest to have a memorial tree planted in his honor at Fort Stewart. The Army post today dedicated an eastern redbud tree for Sgt. Johnny W. Lumpkin. He died July 2 in Iraq.
