Accounting students from Clayton State University are offering free income tax assistance for certain eligible taxpayers. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program helps taxpayers who make less than $49,000 a year with their personal income taxes.

The terror attacks ten years ago helped shape the Brunswick area as one of its economic engines expanded. The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center is based in the coastal city and trains 20,000 federal officers in 90 agencies each year. That's compared to 16,000 officers before the attacks.

More than 7,000 Geogia non-profit organizations are losing their tax-exempt status. The IRS has revoked their ability to collect money tax-free because they haven't filed a new form. Many of the groups are simply defunct. But others might not have heard about the small, postcard-sized form.
