The Department of Natural Resources is set to decide today whether or not to test a new underground water storage system. The $4 million experiment in Baker County will be Georgia's first attempt at aquifer storage and recovery. Backers say the idea has been used successfully around the country for decades.
A broken pipe from a kaolin company caused a large spill in Reedy Creek. Kaolin is now in Brier Creek where 12,000 fish died in October from another spill. Drinking water is no longer being withdrawn from creek.
