The state has created an online directory to help increase the global visibility of Georgia's exporters. The Department of Economic Development started the directory so international buyers can easily find Georgia products or services.

Georgia does a lot of business with China. We sell the country lots of forestry products and chickens. So why don't some industry groups want to comment on a trade dispute currently in the U.S. Senate? Some of them have unresolved complaints with the Chinese. Or their members are divided.

Savannah is now the nation's second-busiest port for exports. Ports officials highlighted numbers at the annual State of the Port address in Savannah. Georgia Ports Authority Executive Director Curtis Foltz says, Savannah's export ranking behind only Los Angeles highlights the need for fast action on a long-sought harbor deepening project.

Small agricultural businesses in Georgia and the South can get money to help sell their products abroad through a program with the Southern U.S. Trade Association. The group began accepting applications in August for federal money that will pay up to half of companies’ marketing costs to expand their exports.
