Week 7 in the Southern Conference saw a slew of high-scoring contests including the top-ranked Georgia Southern Eagles crushing Furman 50-20 at Paulson Stadium. Five different players rushed for touchdowns to go along with 361 total rushing yards for the Eagles.

Today, Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) held a press conference to announce their fall agenda. GPB will be football headquarters in the state of Georgia. On Friday nights, GPB will have a football game on television and one on the web. This all begins at the 20th Annual Corky Kell Classic at the Georgia Dome on Aug. 20.

State education officials will decide in February whether to keep cursive in the curriculum. The flowing style of handwriting isn't mentioned in a new set of teaching guidelines adopted last year. Some educators doubt that cursive is critical to what students need to know in the 21st Century.
