    The election of Edna Jackson as Savannah mayor signifies continuity with the outgoing administration. She had the support of current mayor Otis Johnson, who couldn't run for re-election because of term limits. She also had the support of the chamber of commerce, major unions and the city's daily newspaper.

    Less than 1 percent of Georgia’s registered voters have cast an early ballot for tomorrow’s primary. But, Despite much interest, the non partisan judicial elections are drawing endorsements. Statewide only about 46 thousand people have cast ballots in the runoff for 2 judicial races. One on the State Appeals court and one on the Georgia Supreme Court.
