After party elections this weekend, 72 Georgians are headed to Charlotte this summer for the Democratic National Convention. They’re from each of the state’s congressional districts. The Georgia Republican Party had similar elections a week ago.
Following a bitter race Sue Everhart elected to her third term. Everhart ran against Tricia Pridemore who was hand picked by Governor Deal. Deal was booed at today's convention when he spoke out in support of Pridemore.
Georgia’s Republican Party is defending Nathan Deal after a conservative radio host questioned whether Deals’ financial troubles could hurt his election. Kenny Burgamy is a conservative talk show host in central Georgia. He says his callers have had questions about Nathan Deal’s more than 2 million dollars in bank loans that are due in February.
