The Atlanta Public Schools system is spending millions on remediation programs to help those directly affected by a massive cheating scandal and others who've simply fallen behind. Officials say the students didn't get the help they needed because their test scores weren't properly recorded.

Atlanta's school board has delayed making a decision on whether to extend the contract of Superintendent Erroll Davis. The board met in a closed session for about three hours Monday before deciding to postpone the decision until December.

Atlanta's school superintendent has announced a plan to close 13 schools as part of the first citywide school redistricting effort in nearly a decade. CBS Atlanta reports that Superintendent Erroll Davis is expected to present his school closing recommendations to the school board on Monday.
