Sunday sales of alcohol won't be allowed in Douglasville any time soon. CBS Atlanta reports that the city's mayor on Monday vetoed a measure that would have put Sunday sales on the November ballot. The mayor also vetoed a bill that would have let bars serve alcohol later on Saturday nights.

A proposed ban on pit bulls was rejected by Douglasville lawmakers Monday night. If the ban had been approved, owners of pit bulls would be allowed to keep their dogs if registered and muzzled in public.
