Nikema Williams officially took over as interim Chairwoman of the Democratic Party of Georgia Monday. Williams previously served as the party’s First Vice Chair, but was moved to the interim position after former Chairman Mike Berlon stepped down. Berlon’s resignation was effective Sunday.
Georgia’s voter photo ID law went before the state Supreme Court Tuesday. The 2005 law requires voters present photo identification before casting their ballots, but waives that requirement for absentee ballots.
