None of the DeKalb County school system's commencement ceremonies will take place in places of worship this year in response to parent complaints. The ceremonies will instead be hosted at secular venues or outdoor stadiums.

The federal government has reached a settlement agreement with the DeKalb County School District over alleged harassment of a Sikh middle school student. The settlement was announced Tuesday and will be in effect through the end of the 2014-15 school year.
