A last-minute ethics complaint launched against Casey Cagle just days before the election has drawn a strong response from both candidates. Cagle calls the accusations "disturbing" while his Democratic opponent denied she had anything to do with them. The complaint came from a former Republican candidate who has endorsed the Democrat.
Georgia voters will have three candidates to choose from in all state wide posts on this November’s ballot... the democrat, the republican and the libertarian. It’s the first time the libertarian party has a full slate in Georgia races.
Georgia Libertarian candidate Rhonda Martini has withdrawn from the race for lieutenant governor. Martini reportedly left the race Wednesday to deal with family issues. Georgia law allows a party to choose a new candidate in the event of a withdrawal. The Times newspaper of Gainesville reports that Dan Barber of Buford appeared as the new Libertarian candidate for lieutenant governor late Wednesday on the secretary of state's website.
