Officials say, Georgia's inland port will start shipping containers by rail to the seaport of Savannah starting in October. The start-up of the port in Cordele will be slow, with about a hundred jobs being filled in the next few months. Once fully operational, however, the port could be the center of thousands of shipping, warehouse and transportation jobs.
