The mayor of Columbus says, she's forming a commission to push for regional passenger rail service to the west Georgia city. Mayor Teresa Tomlinson has put several community and business leaders on the commission. She hopes the panel will help efforts to build a Columbus to Atlanta rail link, one of city leaders' top priorities.

Columbus Mayor Teresa Tomlinson is demanding that an online news organization delete from its website a story declaring that her Georgia community is America's "brokest city." The Daily Beast published the story Tuesday ranking several U.S. cities. It said it used unemployment rates, median household income, and average debt to compile its report.
