Macon State College and Middle Georgia College are merging. Georgia Board of Regents voting on name change for the schools. Four of the six names under consideration include university.
House approves a bill allowing citizens of Macon to decide whether to merge city and county governments. Bill now goes to governor. Consolidation efforts go back nearly 100 years.
