The state Supreme Court has ordered that Catoosa County Magistrate Court Judge Anthony Peters be permanently removed from office. The court issued a unanimous opinion on Tuesday saying it agrees with the recommendation of the Judicial Qualifications Commission and ordered Peters removed from the bench and barred from ever holding judicial office in Georgia.

Officials in Catoosa County and the city of Ringgold say the pickup of debris from last week's tornadoes will begin soon and they're arranging for help from private contractors.

Tornado victims in northwest Georgia are reporting thefts and scams in the wake of last week's deadly storms. There are six reports. When deadly storms last week cut power in Nortwest Georgia, public libraries helped fill a void. The downtown library in Rome had power for days when more rural areas did not.
