    About 100 people gathered near the Imperial Sugar refinery near Savannah to remember those who died at the plant on the same night four years ago. Fourteen people were killed because of a dust explosion at the facility on Feburary 7th, 2008. First responders, ministers and survivors gathered at a church near the blast site.

    Worshippers filled Savannah's Cathedral of St. John the Baptist as the Catholic church ordained a new bishop in a solemn ceremony. Father Gregory Hartmayer was ordained leader of the 90-county Savannah Diocese, including 77,000 Catholics south of Atlanta. Nineteen bishops, including one from Ireland, attended the ceremony in the port city known for its large population of Irish decent.

    Pope Benedict XVI has elevated the pastor of a small church in Metro Atlanta to lead the Diocese of Savannah. Gregory Hartmeyer will be the new Savannah bishop, overseeing 55 with 77,000 Catholics. He currently serves a parish in Lithia Springs.
