Officials at Savannah River Site near Augusta told employees to take as much vacation as possible this holiday season. The private firm managing the nuclear storage facility faces a $175 million budget gap until a deadlocked Congress approves its spending plan. Barbara Smoak of Savannah River Nuclear Solutions says the site has to be quiet this week for the company to shore up finances.
