The Atlanta City Council is considering a proposal that would make it more difficult to open indoor shooting ranges. The council is taking up the issue as Douglasville-based Stoddard's Range and Guns looks to open an Atlanta location near Atlantic Station. That plan would involve converting a dilapidated plumbing supply company into a nearly 30,000-square-foot range and retail store.

Mayor Kasim Reed says details for a proposed stadium deal should be on the desks of Atlanta City Council members by the end of March. The current version of the deal calls for the city issue $200 million in bonds backed by hotel-motel tax revenue to partly fund a $1 billion stadium. The council would have to approve a funding deal.

An Atlanta Falcons executive says the team will consider moving to a suburban location if it does not strike a deal to build a new downtown stadium. Falcons President and CEO Rich McKay said Wednesday the team would have no choice but to consider a suburban site if negotiations on the downtown Atlanta site break down.

Atlanta City Council has approved legislation requiring carbon monoxide detectors to be installed in all public buildings. At-Large Councilmember Michael Julian Bond says the legislation is intended to protect the city's children.

Atlanta City Council members will receive a raise after Mayor Kasim Reed allowed a roughly 50 percent proposed pay increase to become law. The pay raises will take effect in 2014, and will increase the annual salary for City Council members by more than $20,000.
