Delta Air Lines plans to add flights to Asia through an expansion of its partnership with Alaska Airlines. Delta aims to add a flight between Seattle and Shanghai starting on June 17, 2013. U.S. government approval is pending.

The government of India is opening a new consulate to serve the southeastern U.S. The consulate will serve the approximately 100,000 Indian nationals living in Georgia and roughly 290,000 across the Southeast with services such as visas, passports and other documents. It also will help facilitate business.

Georgia will open a second trade office in China. Governor Nathan Deal made the announcement from Beijing on Wednesday. Deal and his economic development team are in the midst of a six-day, five-city trip to boost Georgia’s economic development with China and South Korea. the office will be located in the country’s Shandong province, on China’s east coast.

Governor Nathan Deal tomorrow embarks on a trade mission to Asia. The governor, his wife and members of his economic development team will visit South Korea and China. Deal called the Asian countries "two of the world's most dynamic economies" and said they hold "a myriad of opportunities for Georgia."
