AT&T has announced it will open an innovation center near Georgia Tech in Atlanta. Company officials said Tuesday that the innovation center is expected to help AT&T speed development of new applications and platforms.
AT&T has announced it will create about 600 new jobs in the state, and plans to hire workers to fill more than 1,000 positions overall. Gov. Nathan Deal announced Thursday that AT&T plans to immediately hire full and part-time workers in network construction and maintenance, customer support, retail and other positions.
AT&T is expanding in the prepaid wireless niche with the launch of a new brand — Aio Wireless. The new subsidiary will offer nationwide wireless service to customers interested in unlimited talk, text and data plans without an annual contract.
AT&T Inc. and the Justice Department have agreed to put off their upcoming antitrust trial over the phone company's proposed acquisition of smaller rival T-Mobile USA while the wireless carriers determine the fate of the deal. U.S. District Judge Ellen Segal Huvelle quickly approved their motion Monday to cancel their February trial and set a Jan. 18 status hearing
