Jane Little, Sarah Zaslaw

On this date in 1945, a new musical group gave its debut concert in Atlanta with a petite teenager named Jane playing the enormous double bass. The youth orchestra ensemble soon evolved into the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and Jane Little evolved right along with it. Tonight she marks her 71st anniversary with the ASO – making her the longest-serving orchestral player in the world. Jane Little tells GPB's Sarah Zaslaw her career began sort of by accident.
