Middle Georgians are talking baseball, the need to rock the vote this election season and the excitement about the Pope's visit this week.

Charles Richardson, editorial page editor at the Telegraph (of Macon) and GPB Macon's Leah Fleming are in studio and you can see the video below.

HOT TOPIC #1:
There is talk that Macon-Bibb could get a minor league baseball team. A resolution to spend $50,000 on a market analysis and economic feasibility study for a minor league baseball team went before the Macon-Bibb County Economic and Community Development Committee on Tuesday. In 2002, Macon lost its Class-A minor league Atlanta Braves affiliate to Rome after Macon leaders failed to make improvements at Luther Williams Field, which Braves officials described as substandard. What would it take to make a baseball team work in Macon?

HOT TOPIC #2:
This week civic engagement and voter registration is on the minds of people all over the country. An event was held at the Tubman African American museum to register folks to vote. Macon-Bibb County Elections Supervisor Jeanetta Watson told the Telegraph that there are just over 95-thousand registered voters in the county. Charles Richardson says that's great, but matters not if folks don't get out to actually vote.

The Pope in the USA and Catholics from all over Middle Georgia are excited by this historic visit!
