Animal shelters routinely see dogs that have clearly been used for fighting. But dogfights often times happen in secret, and that can make it very difficult to catch the people responsible. Liz Farrell and Sarah Bowman have reported for the Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette on dogfighting in Beaufort County - and efforts to stop it. Bowman explains why county leaders are proposing to regulate the dogs rather than going after the people breeding and fighting them.
