A 700-mile bike ride through the coastal south in July might not sound like much fun. But that’s how one group of middle- and high-school age cyclists is spending their summer vacation. They’re traveling through the Gullah-Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor, which recognizes and preserves the culture of people brought from West and Central Africa as slaves. GPB’s Emily Jones caught up with 13-year-old rider Marcus Adams and coach Atiba Mbiwan when they arrived in Savannah.
