The Georgia House has three new members, following special elections Tuesday.

Marie Robinson Metze defeated fellow Democrat Shelitha Robertson in Atlanta's House District 55. Metze replaces longtime Rep. Tyrone Brooks, who resigned earlier this year after pleading guilty to tax fraud.

In House District 24 in Forsyth County, Republican Sheri Smallwood Gilligan won 75 percent of the vote in a runoff against GOP candidate David Van Sant.

Republican Betty Price won in House District 48 in North Fulton. It's the seat that was held by Rep. Harry Geisinger, who died in May.

Races in District 80 (DeKalb andFulton counties), District 146 (Houston County), and District 155 (Ben Hill, Coffee, Irwin, Tift, and Turner counties) will head to runoffs, since no candidate won a majority of votes.

Elsewhere, a DeKalb county commission district will have representation for the first time in two years. Mereda Davis Johnson, wife of Democratic congressman Hank Johnson, won the seat in District 5. Former commissioner Lee May was appointed interim county CEO in 2013.
