Google plans to expand its data center in Douglas County. Company officials and Governor Nathan Deal made a formal announcement in Lithia Springs Tuesday afternoon.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports Google will invest more than $300 million in the expansion.

The facility opened in 2003. It covers half a million square feet, and around 350 work there. Data centers are the backbone of Google services like search, Gmail, and YouTube.

Tuesday’s announcement is the latest expansion for Google in Georgia. Earlier this year, the company said it would offer its ultra high-speed internet service, Google Fiber, in the Atlanta area.
