Ossabaw Island Foundation

Anna Chandler of Connect Savannah and Taylor Castillejo of Visit Savannah offer some ways to get the most out of your weekend in Coastal Georgia.

Taylor’s picks:

-Rock out to the classics with Jukebox! at the Savannah Theatre Friday and Sunday. The show features popular music and choreography from the 1940s through the 1980s, with a live band right on stage. It runs through November 22. Friday, 8 p.m. and Sunday, 3 p.m.; $18-37.

-Enjoy the great outdoors with the Beaches and Creeks of Ossabaw tour of Ossabaw Island on Saturday. Take a boat trip through the narrow tidal creeks while watching for birds, dolphins, and other wildlife. Saturday, 8 a.m.; $75 per person.

-Celebrate the Jepson Center’s latest exhibit for free with the museum’s Free Family Day on Saturday. Explore the exhibit and check out hands-on activities for kids, including relief printing and t-shirt silk screening.

-Finish up your day at the beach Saturday with one of Savannah’s favorite folk-Americana bands. Train Wrecks will play North Beach Grill that night, time TBA.

-Check out some unique jazz with the Jody Espina trio at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Savannah on Saturday. It’s part of the church’s Sounds & Spirits series. Saturday, 4-5:30 p.m.; $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

Anna’s picks:

-Check out a cult favorite musical with Savannah Children’s Theatre’s production of "Little Shop of Horrors", opening Friday. The end-of-the-world satire features a Motown score and a giant carnivorous plant from outer space. Shows next weekend as well. Friday and Saturday, 7 p.m. and Sunday, 3 p.m.; $15 with discounts for children, seniors and military.

-Relive - or redo - your high school prom with Rock‘n’Roll Prom on Friday at the Jinx. Local bands will play covers and classics. Come dressed up in your 80s finest for a discount at the door - and enter the contest for prom king and queen (or king and king, or queen and queen - they’re not picky). Friday, 9 p.m.; $7.

-Sample local brews for a cause at Pints for Pigs Saturday at Southbound Brewing. It’s part of the Kiss A Pig competition to raise funds for the American Diabetes Association. Enjoy local music, food from Andaz and Bojangles and Southbound’s special-occasion beer “Smoke in the Water.” Saturday, 7-10 p.m.; $30.

-See a music legend next week when Bob Dylan and his band play the Johnny Mercer Theatre. Tuesday, 8 p.m.; $55-300.
