Winston Churchill

What comes to mind when you think of Winston Churchill? Most Americans know him for his leadership of Great Britain during World War II. But that was only one chapter in his exceptional life. He was a politician. But he was also a journalist, an inventor, and a painter. An exhibition of those paintings is on display right now in Atlanta.

2015 is also the 50th anniversary of his death. The Churchill estate asked Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, to write a book reassessing the great man’s legacy. In The Churchill Factor: How One Man Made History, Johnson says modern society is at risk of forgetting all he did.

“What I wanted to do myself was to try to get to the bottom of how he became the man he was, what gave him this incredible moral courage,” Johnson says in an interview with GPB's Bradley George.
